Electronic handbooks make good progress

The article focuses on the MAF Sustainable Farming Fund project Best Practice with Farm Forestry Timber Species. The purpose of the project is to publish a series of electronic handbooks for farm foresters. These handbooks will offer updated information about growing, harvesting and marketing alternative species. As of May 2006, the cypress electronic handbook has been completed. The handbook discusses a number of issues such as timber properties and market, siting and land use options, and seed source and genetics.
