ABSTRACT
The article reports on the box office performance of two Broadway shows including "The Drowsy Chaperone", and "The Color Purple," in New York. "The Drowsy Chaperone" is considered the biggest of the 36 shows on the Rialto during the week ending May 21, 2006. The weekly gross increased nearly as much over the prior and looking on gaining even more when a discount-ticket marketing initiative expires May 28, 2006, which has been considered to gain momentum.
