ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the role of quality for convenience store retailers who offer car washes. Car washes are becoming increasingly popular in the convenience store channel. A recent study by the International Carwash Association found that the use of stationary automatic car washes increased from 9.5 percent in 1996 to 14.3 percent in 2005. It also shows that stationary automatic customers rate the quality of a wash as the most important factor in their car wash selection. Mark Thorsby, executive director of the International Carwash Association in Chicago said that the biggest obstacle to c-store was quality.
