ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the views of the author on the landscape drawings of Robyn O'Neil that appeared in this publication. These drawings suggest a narrative thread that is consistent with her larger production. O'Neil constructs these drawings with the economic precision of a Renaissance predella. In these compositions, O'Neil addresses the human condition. Four of the drawings move from meditation to the concrete fact of death, whereas the last drawing depicting the image of a darkening sea offers a tabula rasa and a return to elemental purity.
