The article presents information about Arm Inc.'s presilicon software development tools. This development tools have been advertised as an integrated, end-to-end tool chain for hardware and software co-development of embedded systems and SoCs. The RealView Development Suite (RVDS) 3.0 features an enhanced compiler optimization engine, a powerful debug engine with multicore DSP awareness, high-performance Linux compilation capability, and GNU tools interoperability. This software is interoperable with the electronic system level (ESL) simulation models generated by the RealView CREATE family of ESL tools. The software supports all ARM processors including the ARM11 MPCore multiprocessor, as well as the company's Cortex-M3 and Cortex-A8 processors. This development suite also uses an intrinsic compiler for the company's NEON 64/128-bit hybrid SIMD technology to accelerate the performance of multimedia and signal processing applications.
