The article reports on the increase in sales of specialty retailer Cost Plus in the first quarter of 2006. In contrast, the company reported a net loss of $4.8 million as same-store prices decreased. The company attributed the weakness to lower-than-expected store traffic and lower sales of upholstered and outdoor furniture.
