Dinakar, S.

Forbes Asia;2/27/2006, Vol. 2 Issue 3, p14
The article focuses on the decision of Shasun Chemicals & Drugs of India to delay its plans for a plant in Thailand that would supply raw materials for manufacturing the painkiller Ibuprofen in May 2005. The company purchased contract development company Chirex from Rhodia in 2000. Shasun expects that its two British factories making patented drugs for customers such as Eli Lilly and GlaxoSmith line will give it a strong position in the U.S. and European market. Shasun is still planning to build its own plant for Ibuprofen despite diversifying.
