ABSTRACT
The article reports on the introduction of the new Fig Newton, an improved variant of the soft pastry filled with fig jam from Nabisco Biscuit Co. Nabisco has revealed that the Fig Newton's classic ingredient was added with hydrogenated cotton seed oil. The hydrogenated cotton seed oil proved to be a healthful alternative to fat in cookies.
