ABSTRACT
The article reports on the start of the high definition-DVD competition among home entertainment companies in the U.S. in June 2006. There are several companies involved in the competition like Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Lions Gate Home Entertainment, Buena Vista Home Entertainment,Warner Home Video and Universal Studios Home Entertainment. During this year, it was estimated that retailers will launch more or less 500,000 high-definition players.
