ABSTRACT
The article reports on the results of inquiries and investigations into companies, including information technology software maker Mercury Interactive, conducted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for switching the dates of their stock option grants to favor their own bank accounts. The move has dismantled Amnon Landan, Forbes' 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year and CEO of Mercury, who resigned along with his CFO and chief legal counsel on November 2, 2005 following the results of an internal investigation. There is a possibility that Mercury will be delisted from Nasdaq if it cannot file restated earnings back to 1998 by November 30.
