ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the expansion plans of Canada-based ski company Intrawest Corp. in China according to president of mountain operations Hugh Smythe. Smythe says, China is attracting the winter-play sector and will eventually surpass the U.S. and Canada's annual visit total of 75 million. Intrawest's goal is to create a network of ski areas that would support one another. The company is eyeing sites in the northeastern part of the country, where mountains, snow and water supply are adequate for modest resorts. INSET: TRACKING DISNEY'S HONG KONG BUMPS.
