The article reports that Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles will make his argument to the public for taking a large measure of authority over the Los Angeles Unified School District. Worthy to note is the fact that Villaraigosa has lobbied for mayoral control of the 720,000 student district since before he was elected last year.
