ABSTRACT
The article reports on the initial payment by the Treasury Department amounting to 9.965 billion dollar for its weekly auction of the 91-day and 182-day discount bills. Furthermore, it will be selling 27 billion dollar inorder to refund the 36.965 billion dollar in maturing securities. Worthy to note is the holding by the Federal Reserve Banks of the amount 17.656 billion dollar of maturing bills in their own accounts.
