ABSTRACT
The article discusses the obstacles in the consolidation of the asset management industry in the U.S. The intangibility of the assets of fund companies is considered to be a hindrance in making a value. Some asset managers, on the other hand, are facing difficulties in offering their funds to their customers. The mutual fund industry is also facing pressure from regulators and underpriced by exchange-traded funds.
