ABSTRACT
The article reports on the concerns of analysts and media commentators about the growing trading risks of banking institutions in the U.S. According to credit rating agency Moody's Investors Service Inc., banks and securities firms fail to adequately disclose their risk exposures and risk management efforts to investors. It has been observed that banks use inconsistent formats, methodologies, calculations, risk factors and assumptions.
