Tackling bad attitude in staff

The article informs about a behaviour policy that will help deal with staff whose bad attitudes cause problems. A employer needs to ensure that staff are treated decently and well by other staff members. If not, the employee can resign and claim constructive unfair dismissal. However, exactly the same point can be made in respect of the alleged wrongdoer--they should only be disciplined for the way in which they carry out their duties, not just on the basis of their personality. An employer should define inappropriate behaviour in a practice policy. The policy should explain the consequences of not complying with expected behaviour. Generally, minor breaches would be dealt with by a verbal or written warning. As is usual, these will remain on file for, say, six to 12 months.
