ABSTRACT
The article presents several controversies surrounding screening mammography. These include efficacy of screening women before age 50, issues regarding the benefit of screening for women at any age and the belief that early detection of breast cancer may result in their early death. Screening mammography is not perfect but it is a degree forward in the battle against cancers.
