ABSTRACT
The article reports that the subsidiary company of SCI Income Trust, Simmons Canada Ltd., attained an increased 2006 first-quarter sales and net income. According to records of the parent company, the sales of the flagship Beautyrest line and the promotional Beautysleep brand hastened the increase. The product line's sales exceeded the increased sales of the lower-margin product and higher-costs of foam. In addition, general and administrative expenses fell as well as gross margin.
