The article reports on the 2006 first quarter results of DuPont and Rohm. DuPont announced mixed results at the end of the first quarter of 2006, with higher prices and volumes only partially off-setting higher energy and raw material costs and the adverse effects of a strong dollar. Consolidated net income for the first quarter was $817m, down 15 percent on 2005. Rohm and Haas fared better, posting record sales of $2.1bn on earnings 30 percent higher than 2005 at $207m.
