ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the varied financial performance of U.S.-based chemical companies in the first-quarter of 2006. The net income of Dow Chemical declined by 10%. There is an improvement in the performance of Huntsman. The financial results of Methanex can be attributed to low-cost plants and methanol prices.
