ABSTRACT
The article discusses the processes involved in the creation of a cadaver for use on the forensic television series "Crossing Jordan." The prosthetics company Optic Nerve is responsible for the manufacture of everything autopsied on the show. Managing partner Greg Solomon describes the process, which usually takes three weeks, starting from molding an actor's head or body to the making of permanent silicone and fiberglass mold. Several factors to consider about the composition of the dead body are also discussed.
