ABSTRACT
The article reports on a protest in opposition to the plan of Calpine Energy Corp. to build a power plant in the Medicine Lake Highlands northeast of Mount Shasta in California on January 27, 2006. The plans of Calpine pose a threat to the ecology and endanger the underlying aquifer of the area. Mark LeBeau, organizer and vice chairman of for the Native Coalition for Medicine Lake Defense, states that the protest shows their support for all sacred lands in California.
