ABSTRACT
The article reports that the global stainless crude steel production has declined by 1 percent in 2005, according to the International Stainless Steel Forum. A dramatic decrease in demand has led to the cut in production in the final two quarters of the year 2005. Asia emerged as the largest stainless steel producing area in the world and the only production area that has undergone an increase in stainless steel output for the year. Meanwhile, demand for stainless steel in Europe is rising.
