ABSTRACT
The article discusses the increase in the use of aluminum in the automotive industry. Aluminum is next only to steel in terms of commonly used materials used by car manufacturers. Misha Riveros-Jacobson, president of advanced transportation systems for Alcoa Inc., stated that aluminum has emerged as a solution to high fuel prices, rising global warming concerns and increasing safety demands. Aluminum-intensive vehicles have the ability to reduce greenhouse gases.
