ABSTRACT
The article presents the views of the author on the U.S. television industry's current trend in programming. He comments that the formula for television programming no longer seems like a viable strategy. He cites, as an example, the television program "Lost," from American Broadcasting Co., which continues to engender inordinate passion among avid television viewers. He quotes the statement "Every show should be someone's favorite show" by the late Brandon Tartikoff, former executive of NBC Entertainment, which he thinks holds the truth in television programming today.
