The article presents the author's experiences of working at the Bronx, New York-based BP Connect store. Supervisor of 17 employees at the busy store, handed her a pair of rubber gloves and an orange vest and took her out to the pumps for the daily inspection. She was told to use her knees when picking up heavy objects. The supervisor explained her that once each shift, the cooler is merchandised--every label needs to be facing out. Stocking candy bars, lining up Pringles cans and snapping Cheez-Its into endcap clips was one of the tiresome tasks at work for her.
