ABSTRACT
A response is presented to the article "Concerning the quality of the development of knowledge in sport pedagogy," by B. Crum, from the "Journal of Teaching in Physical Education." Crum is criticized for viewing the role of hermeneutics in physical education teaching as merely clarifying, rather than as a method of criticism.
