UNESCO and Libraries: Sixty Years of Cooperation

The article reports on the role of libraries in the objectives and activities of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to maintain, increase and disseminate ideas and knowledge. It is indicated that UNESCO issued a mandate to uplift the information dissemination verbally and visually. The collaboration of both parties promotes the development of library service through technological innovations and network resources.
