Fortnight big on Euro fare

The article reports that the Directors Fortnight event of the Cannes Film Festival 2006 is dominated by European films and first films. Gus Van Sant's first film "Mala Noche" will have a special screening. There are six French films and six co-productions. The psychological thriller "Bug," directed by William Friedkin, is one of the five new American films included in the event. Other American films are "Lying," by M.
