Mattress Firm agrees to acquire Metropolitan Mattress

The article reports that Mattress Firm (MF) Inc. has agreed to acquire Metropolitan Mattress company. The acquisition will make MF the largest retailer in the Phoenix, Arizona market and will boost its nationwide store counts to 337 in more than 30 markets. MF ranked third with 2004 sales of 273 million dollar in the journal "Furniture/Today" latest list of the top U.S. bedding retailers.
