ABSTRACT
The article focuses on research and theoretical development in physical education curriculum development. The scope of physical education research has broadened from a focus on teaching methods to a wider view of human behavior and psychological aspects of the field. Newly developed research methods are described. The article looks at methods of quantitative and qualitative research. The impact of the Purpose Process Curriculum Framework (PPCF) on physical education research is highlighted.
