ABSTRACT
The article reports that Ambac Assurance Corp. topped all insurers in the U.S., acquiring 26.9 percent market share in the first quarter of 2006. Ambac has 9.9 billion underwritings in tax-exempt debt with 268 bond issuances. Meanwhile, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP has led on the tax-exempt bond counsel rankings, acquiring 10.4 percent market share.
