The LEEDing edge: US Green Building Council

The article discusses the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The aim of the system is to accelerate the development and implementation of green building practices. A description of an LEED-certified building is provided. The USGBC is currently working to create an LEED program for neighborhood development, as of March 2006.
