ABSTRACT
The article reports on developments related to the U.S. nuclear industry. Duke Energy Corp. and Cinergy Corp. announced the approval of their merger by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Joseph Miller has been elected senior vice president of Nuclear Development by the Board of Directors of Southern Nuclear Operating Co. The Court of Federal Claims has awarded 35 million dollars in damages to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in relation to the claims of TVA against the Department of Energy.
