ABSTRACT
The article reports that Australian pay television Fox Sports has acquired the television rights to all home games of Australia's national soccer team, the Socceroos, for seven years from the Football Federation of Australia. The deal includes the 2007 and 2011 Asian Cup tournaments, Asian Cup qualifiers and the World Cup qualifiers. Soccer is excluded from laws that require events to be shown on free-to-air television.
