The article reports that CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus has named Paul Friedman as vice president of CBS News. Friedman will oversee all aspects of the network's hard news coverage. He served as news consultant and executive producer of the Wall Street Journal's "The Journal Report" on PBS. He will join Steve Friedman, who was hired to oversee "The Early Show."
