The article describes the Public Library Association national conference held in Boston, Massachusetts on March 21-25, 2006. Registration totaled 11,029 at the gathering. Journalist Linda Ellerbee recounted the story of her career at the opening session. works. Librarians filled almost every author event to overflowing but also crowded the exhibit hall populated by some 800 vendors, including Google and Amazon. The most-coveted spot was to hear luncheon speaker Elie Wiesel, acclaimed humanitarian and author of Night, his memoir of what he endured during the Holocaust.
