ABSTRACT
We study the existence of sign changing solutions to the slightly subcritical problem where ? is a smooth bounded domain in R N , N = 3, p = ( N + 2)/( N - 2) and ? > 0. We prove that, for ? small enough, there exist N pairs of solutions which change sign exactly once. Moreover, the nodal surface of these solutions intersects the boundary of ?, provided some suitable conditions are satisfied.

We prove that nonsmooth quasilinear parabolic systems admit a local solution in Lp strongly differentiable with respect to time over a bounded three-dimensional polyhedral space domain. The proof rests essentially on new elliptic regularity results for polyhedral Laplace interface problems for...

The main theorem of this paper states a relation between the first nonzero eigenvalue of the Laplace operator and the squared norm of mean curvature in irreducible compact homogeneous manifolds under spatial conditions. This statement has some consequences presented in the remainder of paper.

A rectangular membrane with fixed boundary conditions under applied a transversal force has the solution with singularity. That is the Green's function of this problem. But if a string is considered, which could be taken as a strip from the above membrane under the same force then the Green's...

To study fine properties of certain smooth approximations $${u^\varepsilon}$$ to a viscosity solution u of the infinity Laplacian partial differential equation (PDE), we introduce Green's function $${\sigma^\varepsilon}$$ for the linearization. We can then integrate by parts with respect to...
