ABSTRACT
The article reports on the status of the funding of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the U.S. The Congress will not probably submit to the request of the Bush administration to reduce funding of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's CDBG program by 27 percent. CDBG funds are used in projects supported through trading of municipal bonds. According to economist Veronique de Rugy, the federal government utilizes CDBG to support local projects of refutable value.
