ABSTRACT
The article focuses on business developments of General Motors (GM) Corp. The company's sales in 1973 has declined by 25% while its earnings in 1974 is prospected to be cut by 50% due to a sharp drop in demand for automobiles and an equally sharp rise in operating costs. Regarding the competition in the market, the GM's traditional 50% portion of the market has been decreased to about 45%. On its new cars in the Fall 1974, it includes a new line of four subcompacts in four major models.
