ABSTRACT
The article reports updates on the film industry. Sixty-nine theaters closed between January to March 2006, an increase of 146% compared to 28 theaters in 2005. Theater closings in the Northeast region of the U.S. accounted for one-quarter of the inactive theaters. The animated film Ice Age: The Meltdown made $116 million in revenue in 10 days.
