Golfsmith Files for IPO

The article reports on the plan of Golfsmith International Holdings Inc., which operates a chain of 52 golf superstores, to raise up to $115 million in an initial public offering (IPO). Golfsmith plans to use the funds raised by the IPO to pay down debt and buy out the management contract of First Atlantic Capital Ltd., a New York investment firm that owns a majority stake in the company.
