The article offers views concerning the outlook for the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing industry in the United States seems to have stabilized because the initial rush to offshore has slowed and in some notable situations reversed. Moroever, manufacturers were able to reap the benefits of lean manufacturing. The situation in Japan is very promising after ten years of financial woes. China remains strong and India is starting to awaken its manufacturing activity, making the outlook in Asia as optimistic.
