ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial and marketing plans of Pier 1 Imports for the fourth-quarter and fiscal 2006 in the U.S. Pier 1 plans to update merchandise assortments, streamline expense structure, and improve target marketing for a better standing in the increasingly competitive home furnishings retail marketplace. The company intends to introduce nine direct mail catalogs to build brand awareness and increase store traffic.
