ABSTRACT
The article studies the solid state reaction between iridium and aluminate powders in vacuum. The authors calculated the reaction thermodynamics under nonstandard conditions. The evaluation of the reaction products using x-ray diffraction was also reported. The high temperature applications of metal iridium is further explored.
