ABSTRACT
The article reports on the budget proposal of Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick for the fiscal year 2007, which calls for more cuts in spending, in Detroit, Michigan. The proposed budget includes 1.29 billion dollars in operating expenditures and carries over a projected 63 million dollars shortfall from the current year. According to Kilpatrick, the city has implemented his proposed tax cuts to reduce the deficit in 2006, however, some of the initiatives were not met.
