ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the migration of African Americans to the south of the U.S. If the migration trend continues, not only will the Black share of New York's population, which dipped below 25 percent in 2000, continue to decline, but a higher proportion of Black Over the past few years, African-American migrants have been moving to the South because of their family roots or economic reasons. Work opportunities, renewed family connections, an easy and reduced cost of living are accumulative factors fueling the current Black migration trend.
