ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in composite index for the non-manufacturing business activity to 60.5 for the month of March 2006 in the U.S. Based on the Institute for Supply Management, an index reading below 50 signals a slowing economy, while 50 and up suggests expansion. The non-manufacturing business activity increased for the 36th consecutive month in March, according to Ralph G. Kauffman, chairman of the Institute for Supply Management Non-Manufacturing Business Survey Committee.
