ABSTRACT
The article reports that Scientific-Atlanta Inc. (S-A) will retain its independence after it was acquired by Cisco Systems Inc. No layoffs are expected following the acquisition. S-A senior management has also agreed to stay with the company for two years to ensure a smooth transition. S-A will share similarities with Cisco's acquisition of Linksys Corp.
