ABSTRACT
This article reports on events in black history for the week of April 10-14. In 1983 politician Harold Washington became the first black mayor of Chicago, Illinois. During this week in 1997 golfer Tiger Woods became the youngest winner and the first black to win the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
